Jumped back in to watch Deja Vu again. You ever have a moment where you watch something and like it, only to then not like it years later when you re-watch it. It’s kinda like that. So after watching the film I am stuck on a few points. First, the film has a moment where it describes Time Travel and a few interpretations/Rules for it. One rule states that anything you do in the past that you notice in the present is something you have already done in the past and will do again. No Change.. The other version is the branching theory where changing an event creates a new branch that you are travelling on and the old branch ceases to exist to you. Both of these are good theories. The film starts out trying to show us the Unchanging version, only to have a radical, I can change this moment at the end.. It was bad… This idea also setup multiple Questionable moments that no longer made any sense. In one theory this is his Third time trying to save her, in another, it’s still the second. (you can read them on the IMDB FAQ) But.. here are the holes. *Whose body was in the body bag? was it Larry? It could not have been Doug since you cant take phones with you. *Whose body was in the alligator pit? was it Larry? if so why did the guy burn him? *Why did nobody get in the car with Doug when he was chasing down the bad guy so he could drive? *How did Doug know that the screen was a Time Window?? Looked like a screen to me. *Why do we have a way to send things back in time….? I understand viewing it. but how are we to understand sending things back? *Who was Doug writing U can save her to? if he thought he could change the past, wouldn’t he have Not done that? *Why does every ATF agent work alone? Larry sees a note about a bomb and doesn’t tell anyone? Doug is trying to stop a bombing but doesn’t tell anyone? *Why did Claire put on a dress? She changed out of her dirty clothes into a DRESSSSSS? *If you can see into the past to look for clues. why does every shot of the past look like a Hollywood movie? Don’t stare at her, look at her and her surroundings. sigh
